Middle School

A variety of schedules and topics for kids entering 6th through 8th grades. To honor the fact that Middle Schoolers embody a vast range of interests and energy levels, we make room for this group in both our large, high energy/multi-age camps and in our more focused teen camps.

Students are divided by ages and or focus within each camp. Not sure which camp is best for your student? Feel free to reach out to us at exabimprov@gmail.com or 512 809 0017.

Ages 12 to 17. Improv depends on listening to one another and saying “Yes!’ to one another’s ideas. But to create funnier scenes and more developed characters, we look for the unusual thing and heighten it. We call this “finding the game.” This week, we begin with Improv basics but focus on identifying and heightening the comedy in what’s already there. All levels welcome. Performance on the final day.

Ages 5 to 13. This is it. The last week of break and maybe the hottest month of the year.* Why not look for the comedy in that? Low pressure and fun, this week we use essential Improv techniques to squeeze the final funny out of summer. *Kidding! September is way hotter.
