Sure, Improv Comedy is often hilarious, but there’s more to it than witty replies and silly characters. Improv is theatre that emphasizes listening and creating fearlessly through collaboration and that provides new ways to tell old stories. Our curriculum is built around low pressure Improv exercises and games that emphasize finding the funny in what’s already there, building trust in oneself and others and developing the confidence to embrace the unexpected. Laughter guaranteed. Performance for families on final day. This four day camp is held at Herrington Elementary School.

A deep dive into creating characters and connections on the spot. Designed for students willing to focus on collaborative creation and original comedy. Serious. Fun. Seriously fun. Performance at 1 pm on the final day. Held at ColdTowne Theater. This section is designed for students who will attend High School or the equivalent in the Fall of 2025.

Improv depends on listening to one another and saying “Yes!’ to one another’s ideas. But to create funnier scenes and more developed characters, we look for the unusual thing and heighten it. We call this “finding the game.” This week, we begin with Improv basics but focus on identifying and heightening the comedy in what’s already there. All levels welcome. Late pick up available.
