2024: TowneSquare

The pandemic slowed down the Teen Main Stage tradition, but by 2024 we were ready to launch our next run. TowneSquare moved away from basing the show around an existing troupe, instead casting some of our most talented individual teen performers in specific roles. Directed and shaped by ColdTowne Artistic Director Will Cleveland, the show featured three of ColdTowne’s most beloved adult performers, Katherine Johnson, Dani Gonzales and Garrett Rojas.

2020: Junior Year Abroad

Teen Improv troupe Montmoreau created the concept for ColdTowne’s second mainstage show, working closely with Austin Improv legend Nathan Sowell to craft a tight, fast moving format that showcased the troupe’s witty, character driven style. Kevin Anderson, a mainstay of the Austin Improv scene, performed each week as the “Chaperone” and an array of fantastic local comics guest starred each week as characters met along the way.

2018: HellHole

Featuring teen super troupe “RoundHouse,” HellHole was conceived of by Devon Coleman as a Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Teen Summer Jobs style comedy. Co-directed by Coleman and Kristin Henn, Austin improvisers Katie Stone, Mason Pitluk and Ashlee Pryor Pitluk starred as the adults ostensibly in charge of a haunted golf course. Each performance featured invited a different Austin Improviser to guest star as “Monster of the Week.” The show met with huge success and the tradition of a Teen Mainstage was born.
