For now, these classes are theoretical. While we 100% plan to have them, we have decided to postpone registration until the end of September.
ExAb’s onsite classes take place indoors at ColdTowne Theater or at The Spider House Ballroom.
- Faculty members and students ages 8 and over must wear masks at all times.
- Social distancing must be observed at all times./
- Classes have a maximum of 6 students and are taught by a single faculty member.
- Students who show signs of illness or who have been exposed to illness are respectfully asked to not attend.
Excused Absence at ColdTowne Theater offers Improv & Sketch classes for kids, teens, families and educators.
Weekly Classes are organized by age, interests and experience levels.
Choosing the right class: Though suggested ages are listed for each class, we are all more than just the sum of our experience. If the age group or level you enroll your child in isn’t a good match, switching sections is often an option. This early-improv class guides kids through improv basics with an eye toward collaboration and finding the funny in what’s already there. Created for spirited pre-K and Kinder students who enjoy high energy, movement driven work, Improv Explorers prioritizes self expression, discovery and fun. Class performance details are TBD. Early Elementary. Created for students in First and Second grade, Epic Improv courts the thrills and chills born of fearlessly creating worlds on the spot. Courageously supporting ideas and flexing our minds to allow for endless possibilities, this early Improv class fosters collaboration, ingenuity and hilarity. Class performance details TBD. Older Elementary. High energy Third through Sixth graders.

Older Elementary. Focused Third through Sixth graders with Improv experience.
That first experience creating original comedy with peers was awesome. You have the “Yes, And” down, and you are ready to expand your abilities as a young Improviser. Improv Invasion guides students through that next step, teaching them to create sustained improv scenes that go deep into characters and situations. Tween & Teen
Please note, depending on the individuals enrolled, middle and high school classes will be divided or combined as best serves the group.
