Excused Absence is the youth Improv Comedy program at ColdTowne Theater in Austin, Texas.

We offer comedy classes, camps, shows, workshops, and private events to kids, teens, families, and educators. Additionally, we host the annual Excused Absence Youth Comedy Festival, the only comedy festival in Texas with a focus entirely on performance and comedy education by and for youth.

Move Your Tale, our program for schools, libraries and community organizations, brings Improv shows and classes directly to the community. Designed to suit the needs of each audience, these interactive events use the tools of Improv to build resilience, develop trust in oneself and in the group, encourage healthy risk taking and foster creative expression. MYT is also happy to simply put on a funny show or guide your group through an entertaining workshop.

A great way to learn more about us is to attend our Weekly Family Show, Saturday at 11 am or drop in on Excused Absence Nights, 5 pm Sundays or t at ColdTowne Theater.
